One of the hottest things in the world in a garden is how to get a perfect lawn. A lawn that will be the pride and joy of the neighborhood and, if properly cared for, will be lush and green. But how do we accomplish this?
First you must know that the ideal times for seeding the lawn are the beginning of autumn and spring and that you must decide in advance what kind of lawn we want bait so as to buy better seeds and mix to the best among them.
To understand that you have to buy seeds, you need to know the different types of grass: there is grass suited to the colder climate and suitable for the warmer, respectively more and less soft. But the first thing to do is prepare the ground.
To prepare the ground, you’ll have to clean the whole area thoroughly – via then stones, roots and so forth – cleared the ground with a spade, at least twenty centimeter deep. Remember that if the ground is not very drained sand should be added; If it is too much organic matter should be added instead.
Get about 50 grams of seeds per square meter of land for, then, proceed by hand, scattering the seeds; If you have a seeder, you can pass it lengthwise.
Planting grass seed on a site well prepared, with good soil and drainage must produce a thin lawn in one week. After two weeks, the grass won’t be much thicker, but it will be higher. You must now cut the grass with the mower to the maximum, so the wires will grow more vigorously.
After three weeks, the lawn should be ready to cut weekly. You should have a nice green lawn, ready for regular use within one month. Now though, we have to defend it!
After planting the soil must be evenly wet with rain, gentle, until the first 2-3 cm are moist. Irrigation must be repeated to maintain soil moisture conditions (even daily) for 10-15 days depending on the species, that is, until the seedlings begin to emerge (the green becomes visible).
After the lawn is born you should reduce the frequency of bathing, and is also essential to defend the seeds by birds and by the excessive heat of the Sun. To do so, it is better to move slightly the soil with a rake or add a thin layer of topsoil. Next step is a homogeneous and gentle watering the lawn and then let stand the sown for about 15 days.
